Release Stress

You’ve been dumped, and you're freaking the fuck out.

You don’t feel like yourself, you’re not thinking like yourself, you’re not acting like yourself.

You are STRESSED.

Isn’t it so cute how we have all these squeeze balls and breathing techniques to help you reduce stress, when, if you actually if you want to HEAL, you have to let it out?

That’s right. I’m telling you to go crazy... in a healthy manner.

Throughout my posts on this account, I’m getting you in touch with the magnetic field around your heart, which is very much comparable to being a child again. And what do you see kids do?

They move their body! They cry, they scream, they’re fucking weird.

So get it. Here’s some healthy ways to release stress.

Pounding or hitting:
Use a punching bag, pillow, or drum to release pent-up energy.

Screaming or vocal release:
Let out a loud yell or scream to release tension. (Be somewhere private, to make sure no one calls the cops lol)

Running or intense exercise:
Engage in intense physical activity to release stress hormones.

Destruction therapy:
*Safely* destroy objects like paper, glass, or clay to release anger.

If you don’t have the urge to “go crazy,“ there are some less aggressive techniques that are just as impactful:

Somatic exercises:
Release tension through physical movements like yoga, tai chi, or dance.

Crying:
Allow yourself to cry and release emotional stress.

Creative expression:
Use art, music, or writing to express and release stress.

Laughing or play:
Engage in playful activities like laughter therapy or comedy to release stress.

As you go through the process of healing yourself, it would behoove you to read up on some psychology articles, to get a "101" understanding of basic human patterns.

This, of course, does not replace talking with a professional. Until you find that perfect match of a therapist, and have it in the financial budget to consistently talk with that person, intellectually know that you’re reading articles for research, and to relate, but try to avoid a self diagnosis.

The next post will be talking about the four types of bodily responses when it comes to stress. Which one are you?
