Upgrade Your INNER Health

You've been dumped. You just endured a loss. You may even be having physical pain from the heartbreak. So, it's very important to not only focus on your health for general life reasons, but to also ease the feelings of anxiety and sadness.

As a reminder, as you are healing and going through this process, that this is an OPPORTUNITY to truly upgrade yourself. Listen to your body, feel the feelings that you're having, but also take care of yourself.

FOOD

The first point I want to make, is all about food. And trust me, I get it: especially if you're fresh off of this breakup, you probably don't give a shit about food. You may not even have eaten in the past couple days.

If your appetite is thrown off whack, and you have unintentionally fasted, this is ANOTHER opportunity, in which you can balance your gut health.

90%! of serotonin is produced in the gut. We put so much emphasis on taking care of the mind for mental health, but the gut health is more important. Not only for your immunity, and quality of life, but also specifically when you going through this range of emotions.

Whether you are easing back into food, or you're proactively investing in a different food program, one good thing to incorporate is bone broth. In my video, I showcase a chicken bone broth from Aldi, that is priced at an affordable @$3.15. Aldi also has a beef bone broth as well.

Drink the broth, just as you would a cup of tea. Allocate your preferred amount, dilute it with filtered water, and heat on the stove. To add more nutrients, you can add powdered seasonings, fresh garlic or mushrooms, fresh herbs, it's all up to you. Sit back and sip your warm broth. It will nourish you, support your gut health, get your organs moving, and ease anxiety.

Speaking of tea, an excellent item to have on hand is blue lotus flowers. Not only does it have a candy-like taste, it helps to ease anxiety, AND it is a sleep aid. Just like many other teas, there are a ton of antioxidants. There is no caffeine, which is a bonus, as you should probably be avoiding caffeinated beverages since they increase anxiety and jitters.

If you are wanting to add sweetness to your beverages or food, get a quality honey. Not the translucent stuff in the bear- it should be thick and opaque. The honey I have in the video also contains royal jelly, propolis, and bee pollen. Very high in B vitamins and antioxidants.

I do have another branch of my "LS Empire" called Tummy Tuning. I have a section here on my website that has my socials linked. Soon, I will be posting entries and videos all about gut health, including foods and recipes.

SLEEP AIDS

Moving away from food, I next want to make a point about sleep aids.

You may not be sleeping; you may be enduring insomnia. Please try to avoid taking a lot of melatonin, or any kind of sleep aid medicine (e.g. Nyquil). When it comes down to it, do what you have to do, to get some rest, so that your body can reset and recharge to be healthy.

But, the reason I recommend to stay away from melatonin, because your own [adult] body only produces 0.3mg of it, naturally. So when you're intaking 3mg, 5mg, or 10mg, you can mess up your production and health in the long run.

Healthier options that you can consider to ensure you are getting that much-needed sleep are:

1.) Valerian Root - referred to as "nature's valium." Not only can it help you sleep, but it can ease anxiety symptoms and stress.

2.) THC/CBD/CBN - if you are open to consuming marijuana products, by far the best little gummy is by this company called PHNTM. I personally love this product so much that I HAD to become an affiliate for them. I don't even care about the commission aspect, I want to spread the word on the product that gives me the BEST, deep, rejuvenating sleep. Check out my PHNTM Page here on my website, if they still have the free package link, it will be active on that page (just pay for shipping).

3.) Magnesium- most of the population is deficient in minerals, especially magnesium. Magnesium Glycinate is the type that is helpful for sleep (there are at least 11 different types of magnesium). Take 400 mg with a huge glass of water before bed. Or, mentioned in my video, the Moon Juice company makes a powder that has 3 different magnesiums and L-Theanine.

VITAMINS/SUPPLEMENTS

Segueing over to vitamins and supplements. You want to be getting as much as you can via food sources, but if you're not eating, or you cannot afford rich, quality food, then replenish yourself with vitamins and minerals.

Aside from taking a classic multivitamin, Vitamin C and zinc, and Vitamin D3/K2, research Vitamin B3 (aka Niacin). This is "nature's prozac;" it is very helpful to people with depression.
A head's up that true Niacin will make you "flush;" your skin will get red, hot, and itchy for about an hour. It's uncomfortable, but it's harmless. If you are sensitive, start with a low dose and work up so you can gage your threshold. They do make a non-flush version of B3, but this is actually nicotinamide, and while it has benefits, it's not as good a niacin.

DISCLAIMER: if you have a health care practitioner(s), especially if you have an existing health condition, complete your due diligence of research and speaking with your health care team before incorporating anything, to ensure you are knowledgeable about any possible interactions between foods/vitamins/supplements with your ailment or current prescriptions. We are taking care of ourselves!

EXERCISE

Next, get your body moving. This helps with anxiety; you body is in "fight or flight," and you have that adrenaline. Release it!

Or, if you're in a frozen state, where you're having panic attacks or trouble controlling your breath, even if you can get your body to do some yoga, or a light walk, you center yourself to the present moment, and get your lungs to operate with the movement. In turn, your body will naturally breathe and assist you with the breathwork.

Walking is the best exercise, despite that it is so "easy." If you are used to more of a sedentary lifestyle, it may be hard at first, but it gets better and better. It starts with you making a decision that "I am going to do this." You have a choice to take control over this area of your life.

AVOID DRUGS & ALCOHOL

For my last point about internal health, avoid the drugs and alcohol. It's very easy to resort to self medication for this time period. But if you do participate in any party essentials, consider doing those things when you're in a starting state of feeling good. They should be an add-on to feeling good. Celebrating life, connecting with friends.

If your starting state is feeling bad, it is going to enhance bad feelings. It is also masking your feelings. It is a distraction to truly deciphering yourself with a clear mind and heart. As you're in no contact, you are remebering who you really are. You must keep your gateways open to listen to your body and translate your thoughts. You can face the triggers and uncover the fears. And thus, go further in your life.

In my next entry and video, I will focus on outer health.

Off topic, but closing with an reiteration that, if you haven't already, get a notebook that is dedicated to your healing process of the breakup. When you watch any videos, read articles, etc. that spark an interest in your own journey, write it down in that notebook. Your thoughts, your desires, your ideas, your discoveries, your toxicity, everything.
