Create a Sigil
One of the best things about healing, is reconnecting your mind, heart, spirit, and body, and then channeling that connection through creativity. In our natural state, we are all creators!
While in heartache, it can be challenging to begin the reconnection, or to muster up the motivation to paint, write, play an instrument, etc.
But if you can think about the things you don't want, that means you can know what you do want.
In my last entry, I spoke about rewiring your program, and mentioned an affirmation exercise.
In this entry, I am showing you how to make a sigil, which is a symbol, commonly used in a magical scenario. These are guidelines to create a classic sigil, using a Lo Shu Square, with an alphanumeric grid. This can help to get the creative juices flowing.
There are no real rules; this is your symbol, for your world. The power is within you, and this is a potential tool to get you into your state of personal power. The same goes for what you want to do with your sigil. There are many people saying that you have to "activate it," or do a ritual with it. If that gives you power, then go off.
But this is your experience, so you make the rules. The symbol itself doesn't have the power, you do. You make the rules for yourself.
The Lo Shu Square incorporates Chinese math and divinity. I can summarize an entire background here but, as I usually say, I encourage you to conduct your own research as part of your own journey, so you can feel your body and and discover if it resonates with you.
But a quick overview of the layout:
Within the 3x3 magic square, the three numerals, no matter which direction (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally), add up to fifteen.
5 is in the center, meaning that the two digits on either side of that 5, add up to ten.
In the corners, are the even numbers. In the remaining cross section, are the odd numbers.
The Lo Shu Square is numbered 1-9, so this alphanumeric grid relfects that. The letters are laid out in their order of the [English/American] alphabet, and correspond with a number.
(In a moment, you will see that we will not need the vowels, but they are still here to keep the order in place.)
You could make a sigil for anything, but in the previous entry, I used an example of an affirmation,
"I am beautiful on the outside, just as I am within."
So, using this as an example, this sigil will be a visual symbol to go along with the words. Write out that affirmation, then cross out all of the vowels.
Next, go over the words again, but this time, cross out any consonants that repeat. In this example, when I get to the word, "the," there is already a "T" that appeared in the word, "beautiful." So, I will cross out that additional "T," as well as the "Ts" that appear in the word "just" and the word "within."
After the vowels and repeating consonants are crossed out, write out the remaining letters. These are the letters that will layout the direction of your sigil.
In this example, I am left with
MBTFLNHSDJW.
Using the alphanumeric grid, match the letter and the number, and write out those numbers.
In this example, the corresponding numbers are
4 2 2 6 3 5 8 1 4 1 5
Take those numbers, and make a dot in each square, then connect the dots for your final symbol. The very first mark with be an circle, and the last mark will be a dash. It's up to you if you want the dots to be part of the sigil, or just use them as a guide.
For my preference, I like straight lines and sharp point, so I used a ruler. But you do you! You can make it curvy, you can use this different colors, you can mix styles, whatever YOU want!
You can do this on paper, you can etch it into a candle, you can put ketchup on your wall, there are no rules for your world. (And any consenting beings, if they are experiencing this with you.)
After you have your sketch, you can know this symbol with your word(s).
As I mentioned earlier, others have suggested that you must "activate it." And/or let it go.
Examples of this are blowing on it with your breath, putting it under your pillow while you sleep, having an orgasm while staring at it, tearing it up, or burning it.
Again, I cannot emphasis enough that you make this up, according to what feels right to you; listen to your body.
This is to empower yourself and lift yourself up. All positive motivations.
This is not to cause harm, physical or mental, to yourself and certainly no one else (anyone else is none of your business!).
